About Her

Laura grew up in skiing and dancing in the green mountains of Vermont.  She graduated from Bowdoin College with a BA in Philosophy of Religion with a minor in English.  After dancing in Burlington, Boston, Providence and New York City, Laura moved to Salt Lake City where she received her MFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah.  While there, Laura presented her work at various student concert venues and performed with the department’s Performing Dance Company in Salt Lake City, New York City and Bordeaux, France.  In addition to performing, Laura also had the opportunity to assist teaching major and non major dance courses.  After graduation, Laura was an adjunct faculty member at Weber State University and was also the Artist in Residence at the Sugar Space in Salt Lake City.  At the 2008 conference for the Congress on Research in Dance, she presented her graduate thesis, “Running Like a Girl:  A Look at Modern Dance Artists and British Suffragettes in the Early Twentieth Century.”  Currently, Laura resides in San Francisco where she teaches Pilates and dances with Hope Mohr Dance.  She continues to make work and seek out teaching, writing and dance opportunities.
